About Me & My Experience

CH Backdrafts Backstreet Boy (Baxter) and Me
Baxter was the # 14 Aussie in the Nation (1999), was shown exclusively by me from coast to coast and showed at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in 2000.
As a small child I would literally drag homeless pets pleading with my parents "It followed me home - can I keep it". What can I say - I love animals!
I have been coast to coast actively showing Australian Shepherds in the conformation ring for 10 + years. I am well acquainted with most dog breeds. Am a competent basic obedience trainer; having trained puppies to adulthood. Many of my own dogs have their CGC titles; so manners are very important to me. Have judged conformation events such as the Puppy Extravaganza and Gem City Kennel Club Puppy Match; which are held annually in Dayton, Ohio.
Why I Pet Sit For Others - - - -
Years ago when my husband and I married we purchased a wonderful Golden Retriever who we boarded at a highly recommended Boarding Kennel. Since this facility was highly recommended we felt confident that our pup would be fine. This decision turned out to be one of the worst decisions we made as pet owners. Our happy go-lucky pup who loved everyone was boarded for one week and needless to say, he was not the same puppy when we picked him up from the Kennel. This broke our hearts and we vowed that none of our pets would ever be boarded - and they NEVER have! Over the years we have cared for a variety of pets belonging to family members, friends, fellow firefighters and of course; the "friends of a friend" since we NEVER wanted anyone to experience what we did when we boarded our puppy!
